Chocolate-Caramel Spread

Chocolate and caramel brought together in a jar. To spread on toast, or to steal by the spoonful.

Gluten-free & plant-based

Fully plant-based and gluten-free

Now then… brace yourself, this one is wild.

If you are one of those devoted to Carambar — the chewy French caramel candy — this recipe may well become your new addiction.

I am a great lover of caramel myself, and particularly of those famous candies with their unmistakable taste, the ones that take you straight back to childhood.

But finding all of that in a spread? I have to admit I had never tasted anything like it.

And yet, after my trials, what a surprise and above all what a satisfaction to find that I had managed to recreate those caramel and chocolate notes so characteristic of Carambar.

Every one of the taste markers is there: that very particular caramelized flavor, that chocolate sweetness and that utterly irresistible indulgence.

And all of it in a spread that is 100% plant-based and gluten-free.

I will not pretend otherwise — I am particularly proud of this one. There is something rather astonishing, almost magical, about finding the taste of such an iconic candy in a completely different texture.

Picture this spread generously layered on a slice of bread, on brioche, or on my plant-based gluten-free crêpes… pure indulgence.

But I should warn you: this recipe belongs in the hands of the most level-headed sweet tooths… assuming such people exist.

Because when you love caramel, stopping at a single spoonful becomes frankly difficult.

This is exactly the kind of nostalgic recipe I love to create and share. The kind that makes you smile at the first bite, that wakes up childhood memories and reminds us that indulgence can reinvent itself too, even without animal products and without gluten.

I sincerely hope you will take as much pleasure in eating this spread as I took in creating it and, above all, in tasting it.

And I have a small request: come and tell me on social media what you thought of it.

Did you find that Carambar taste too? Did this spread bring back the candies of your childhood?

I would truly love to hear your impressions, because these moments of sharing are a large part of why I enjoy passing my recipes on.

I wish you a wonderful tasting… and good luck resisting the second spoonful.

With all my love of good food,
